Brianne is getting better today and was a bit cheerful and energetic today. She was feeling better until this evening and crashed, but it's still nice to see some improvement in energy and disposition.
She started getting fluids today from the home health nurse and that went well without any problems. Otherwise, it was a pretty uneventful day.

Bri, as I read Pastor Lloyd Stembridge's article in this week's Fitzgerald newspaper, I thought of you. It is entitled "Darkness of the Soul." Here it is:
"The desert fathers named it best, I think. They called it the 'darkness of the soul.' I have been there. Have you? You think you have been abandoned.
My recent study of Easter bought a fresh new thought on this concept. As you know, God was silent during the Lord's hours on the cross. During the three hours of darkness Jesus was heard to say, 'My god, my God, why have you forsaken me?' Jesus felt alone and abandoned by his father.
There have been times I have felt that same way in my devotions. Have you been like me, that it seemed God was nowhere to be found? Yours prayers were not being answered! Like the psalmist we wanted to cry, 'How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoghts and every day have sorrow in my heart?'
Not only was God silent, but he seemed to have abandoned me as well. His presence was apparently far away. Some of you are in this spot right now. Your marriage is in trouble, and you have sought God only to feel He has abandoned you in your time of need. Some of you are going through difficult times physically and you have prayed for God for comfort only to sense you are in this alone. There are those who are facing great financial challenges only to believe God has abandoned them.
The words of Jesus on the cross carry a greater meaning when we feel, as He did, that God was not interested in His problems. Well, the good news is that God has not left us. In fact, the Bible promises that God 'will never leave us.'
Well, if that is the case, why do I feel so lonely? There are times of testing that come to us all. We have been called to walk by faith, not by sight or feelings. It is at those abandoned times we realize He is there whether He seems to be or not.
His silence may be a way of developing our faith to a new level. It may be that it is not the right time for an answer. God will never abandon His children. Jesus knew and teaches us a fresh insight from the cross. Remember, His final words were words of faith, 'Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.'
Those are words of faith in a God who He knew was there all along taking care of him even when He did not feel God's presence. The same is true for you and me as well. We discover that these 'dark nights of the soul' will pass and that God has been there all along.
Whatever you need, don't give up. God is listening and will answer at the correct time. Faith, after all, is reallly believing in advance in God's answer. Prayer gives me the power to rest in that fact!" (end of article)
Bri, may God bestow upon you great peace of mind and soul as you go through the trials of the weeks ahead.
Love you,
GGR
I Peter 5:7 -- Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you.
I know this is easier said than done but please remember that the Lord is with you through all of this. He will not leave you, nor forsake you. There are so many people praying for you right now. I hope you will feel those prayers and be comforted and your fears be calmed. You are a brave young lady and I admire you for being so strong. I will continue to pray for you and your family as you continue with your treatments.
